Two Years in the Making

In 2019, in Dayton, Ohio, Dan Hereford began working on his own music. It was one year prior to the start of the pandemic and he had not been able to find a band that could articulate the material. So he enlisted the help of Gary King, fellow musician and recording engineer. They recruited the musicians that became Werke Horse.

The album that emerged is an audacious gem. The music transcends the barriers that normally exist between musical genres. It might transform, transport and restore your memories of what fun is all about. It feels good reminds us that there are others who feel like we do.

When conditions improve Dan will assemble a live band to perform with him under the Werke Horse name. Stay tuned!

The Photos

Behold, the obligatory band photo gallery! It’s supposed to show Werke Horse performing music from the new album. But it does no such thing. It doesn’t show Werke Horse playing anything at all because the band hasn’t been performing much of anything.

Just like everyone else on the planet they have living under lock downs, isolated and socially distanced. They have been muzzled and prohibited from expressing their opinions. You, me, all of us have been treated like prisoners of war. And no one wants to see photos of disoriented, dispirited, and depleted musicians doing as they are told. So the photos in this gallery are from a happier time: a time before Werke Horse. It’s how they prefer to be remembered.
